Getting Married

I have been thinking mostly about getting married this week. Planning a wedding is fast becoming one of the most fun and most infuriating processes of my adult life. However, I have been becoming increasingly excited at the thought of becoming a 'Mrs' and creating a family with someone who has stuck through all the good and not so good times with me,

Yesterday I pondered the fact that we are not like we used to be, in the honeymoon phase where you're thinking about when you'll see each other next and your friends try to calm your nerves. Now we have a deeper form of love whereby being perfect is no longer a stress, as we know each other inside out and backwards. I kind of miss that initial excitement but I'm looking forward to the next stage of our lives together.

We have been thinking and talking more and more about having children. It's funny because we've decorated our little room with pale rose (pink) blinds and heart patterned bed clothes for my little sister. This would be very helpful for the future, if we had girls (which given both of our families history is more likely than boys). We've been talking about my family disappearing (my mum has revealled that she will be moving back to be closer and will be working from home 2 days a week) and how amazing it will be to form our own family.

Exciting times!

Guinea Pig Update

Chuck has learnt to stand up on two legs without leaning on anything. This was hilarious and brilliant until he tipped too far back and fell over. Whoops! That's what you get for loving vegetables too much mister!

We have put a new fabric tunnel in - verdict? = love, especially as it hides their path between the log tunnels.

We put a ball in with a bell - verdict? = They really enjoy batting it across the cage and making a noise!

They are so cute and happy with their new C&C cage with FLEECE. Fleece is a firm favourite! Chuck likes to pull it over himself and rub his face in it. Rodney has be good as always :)

Soooo want more piggies. Need people who are happy to babysit for more than a day though.

Flowers and engagement ring

My engagement ring has returned to me! And by 'returned' I mean we drove over an hour to Southampton West Quay just to be handled it over in 5 seconds and driving over to get my eyebrows done in Emsworth. Total waste of a morning but it's soooo pretty.

Other than that I've been considering flowers for the wedding. I'd like to go for pale pink and white or just white. My mum got married in the summer and had Atum Lilies so I can't do that. I'm quite into roses / peonies and gerbera but we'll see. Dan is a fan of roses too but also likes agapanthus because its blue. Not the blue I have in mind for our theme though, a bit too purple.

Feel a bit overwhelmed atm and all the magazines say to delegate jobs where you can but I can't see what I would give to who :S.

Dan thinks all dresses / bouquets / table decorations look the same. This is annoying! It kind of means the decision process is all my own. Makes me feel like I'm marrying myself! Hope his speech makes up for it lol.

The rest of the weekend will involve slobbing because I have a cold whilst also seeing my mum and cleaning the house.

The Ongoing Wedding Journal :P

Bex let slip that Dad is thinking of contributing to our day but Mum isn't. This isn't too surprising but we'll see.

I've been considering wedding music. I know you're not supposed to do that util you have "2-4 months to go" but until we have a venue, there isn't much I can do. On the serious side, I have an amazing wedding classics CD by Classic FM and on the not so serious side, we've considered things like 'Bright Eyes' First Day of my Life, Jackie Wilson's 'Higher and Higher' (Famously used in Ghostbusters) and Katrina and the Waves 'Walking on Sunshine' to complete the ceremony.

I find all of the traditional walking down the aisle music really boring and overdone. I'll probably end up eating my words on that comment as I stride down to the alter to Canon D or the Wedding March from Midsummer Night's Dream. The least overused one is 'Intermezzo' and it's quite pretty so might opt for that.

More wedding gabble

The challenges have kind of gone out of the window...

Anyway, in wedding news...
We have continued looking for more venues. We're seeing one tomorrow and another Tuesday evening. One we know is £10,000 just for food and venue and the other we're unsure of with regards to price.

We also got a brochure from Goodwood House but they're £16,000 just to have the rooms to marry in on a weekend. Makes me bloody sick. It's more akin to a deposit for an actual house!!!

We're also thinking about Fontwell as they actually include the hire of cutlery and crockery in their 'per-head' calculations.

Parents have still not offered a cent.

Getting Married

Since being engaged for less than 2 weeks I have realised that you must be a millionaire in order to pay for a wedding. We went to two of our four prospective venues today and they were both above our budget. About double what we wanted to spend, even on a Sunday. What makes it worse is that the second place was gorgeous and I'm in love with it.

£60 a head for food without VAT, staff costing, renting the plates and cutlery... What the bloody hell??? And then you can have a free bar on top, which isn't happening becaue atm just to eat and be inside this place to get married (without having the registrar) is £13,000.

At this rate we will be having our wedding wearing jeans and the entertainment will be me humming to myself on the stage whilst waving my arms about.

Argh and pooo

Monday 16 May 2011

day 24 - a song that you want to play at your funeral

How utterly depressing! I think I shall do this one quickly. Like in Love Actually -

Sunday 8 May 2011

day 23 - a song that you want to play at your wedding

This song from Romeo and Juliet because it's just so romantic.

So I wrote this entry before I actually got engaged. Weird huh? Last week Dan popped the question and we are (I am) incredibly excited about it. We bought the ring today but alas it is too big even though they measured my finger they gave me a ring 2 sizes too big! So we have to go back to Goldsmiths and get another one a bit smaller or this one resized. Poo.

We've decided to get married next July (29th possibly if you're saving the date). We've written the guest list (approx 40 people). We've also chosen a venue which might be a little bit expensive but we love. We've also had a friend say that he'll do the photography for free which is amazingly kind! Things are moving along already, woo!

So here we go with the actual entry:

Even though its a song about suicide...

Also the instrumental version of The Pixies - Here Comes Your Man was on a modern wedding CD I saw, which was amazing but I think that it's for an entirely different wedding ;)

P.S. sorry for missing out day 22!

Saturday 30 April 2011

day 21 - a song that you listen to when you’re happy

Every day I'm shuffling!

*wigglewiggle* Something Evie, Eliz and I were boogying to at the weekend :)

Wednesday 27 April 2011

day 20 - a song that you listen to when you’re angry

Cue angst ridden song here:

(Found out how to embed again - doh!)

I also have a tendency to listen to System of A Down when I get really angry. This has only happened twice and it involved shouting matches with my little sister (the darling that she is).

And such.

day 19 - a song from your favorite album

Been a bit neglectful of my blog for the simple reason that I've had time away and not enough extra time to search for songs etc.

Favourite album depends on my mood. Weezer's Blue Album is up there though. So here is some tunage (tune-age?).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTlK3UVkK8Q

Apparently all of the videos I'm looking at today have lost their embed option???

Saturday 16 April 2011

day 18 - a song that you wish you heard on the radio

Fenix TX - Threesome. Or any other "punk rock" stuff; finch, hundred reasons, alkaline trio, new found glory, sugarcult... Indie seems to have come into fashion but I would like some more of these things back.

Although I'm not sure how many songs about people having a threesome actually would make it to the radio, it sure would be awesome to hear.

day 17 - a song that you hear often on the radio

Adele is everywhere and on each channel with a different song each time. It's not like she isn't talented, we've just had enough of hearing the same thing each day on the way to and from work.

day 16 - a song that you used to love but now hate

Mr Brightside. Seriously do not ever need to listen to this song again ever. I used to love Hot Fuss but down to the overplayed nature of this song I just avoid it completely.

Friday 15 April 2011

Hello

Dear Life,

Please sort yourself out. I'm sick of this trundling along.

Love from Me.

I thought that by 25 my brain and life would be sorted. It's not. What do I want to do? What do I want to be? Why can't we just get on and get married and have babies instead of worrying about money? I would like to transform into someone else about now. Someone who has it sussed please.

This is just rambling for the sake of it. Blah.

day 15 - a song that describes you

Nerina Pallot - Real Late Starter

Wednesday 13 April 2011

day 14 - a song that no one would expect you to love

Ah there are probably several of these. I seem to be observed as a meek and mild character but as you can see from my last post a bit of bling and swearing doesn't go amiss.

For example:

I ride this motherflipping beat like a tractor...

And some stuff I used to listen to and revisit now -

Dan hates them. I love them. King Adora

Their band name always reminds me of Queen Adreena, which people wouldn't believe I listened to either...

I have enjoyed doing this one :D

day 13 - a song that is a guilty pleasure

Duelling banjos

Cracks me up and I would love to be able to perform this tune with Daniel.

Can't believe I am posting this one but my attention was first drawn to it by the film 'The Proposal' and we love it! We also make up new lyrics and sometimes Dan with just say "Meems, to the window" and I finish off the rest.

Love it.

Tuesday 12 April 2011

day 12 - a song from a band you hate

I can't really think of a band I hate. I am not very fond of Iron Maiden though. Dan used to listen to them but I just found it noisy and long winded! This one is only 4 minutes long though...

day 11 - a song from your favorite band

Urgh. Having a 'favourite band' was something I last had at 16. I love MUSE. Now they're big fat sellouts who aren't even performing anything from Showbiz or Origin of Symmetry any longer. I hate this so immensely that they no longer exist to me.

I am being a mega fan of The Pixies at the moment though. I'm sure this will change but here is a tune from them.

Sorry about the crap quality.

I am also in love with OK GO pretty much all the time. Get, get, get, get, get over it.

Saturday 9 April 2011

day 10 - a song that makes you fall asleep

I pondered for about a second on this one. The Eels are so utterly amazing on so many levels and this song is no exception. Plus it was in Shrek.

Friday 8 April 2011

day 09 - a song that you can dance to

I've had a huge long think about this one, which is weird because I dance to everything. I've settled for this:

Thursday 7 April 2011

day 08 - a song that you know all the words to

Ha ha ha ha ha ha... But it's true though! Its the song that jumped to mind at least.

day 07 - a song that reminds you of a certain event

This song basically reminds me of starting Plymouth Uni because it's the only thing that cheered me up when played loud after a crappy 18th century lit. lecture or reading Oroonoko or something. That's kind of an event, right?

Wednesday 6 April 2011

day 05 - a song that reminds you of someone

The Prodigy reminds me of my Dad constantly and Pink's "So what?" which weirdly makes me sad when I hear it because he sang it on the last day of our last trip to see him. I am a rubbish blubber face. Anywho, we used to blare this out on our drives in his TVR with the top down (he doesn't have a convertible anymore :().

Sunday 3 April 2011

Weekend

I am so thrilled to only have 3 shifts of 8 - 6 this week (except weds 8am - 8pm). I have Thursday off and a staff meal in the evening (which I may / may not go to) and then inset day and pudding club on Friday. Our inset is from 9am - 4pm and I have no idea what it entails yet!

Glad of a short-ish week because I've been feeling really out of sorts this week. Had a couple of naps and fell asleep sitting up in the middle of the week (at home whilst being cuddled!). Dan had to sit still for 45min before he made me go up to bed. This morning Dan took the massive tree stump to the dump with Tom and I physically couldn't get myself out of bed. Just feeling a bit sad, mixed with tiredness. Thankfully 2 cups of tea later and a shower worked their magic. Don't really know whats wrong but I only have 18 days til our time off which should hopefully sort me out!

Tonight I will be relaxing with copious amounts of tea, a lovely bath and a fresh face mask from LUSH.

day 06 - a song that reminds you of somewhere

My mum took us on holiday to Cyprus just before Evie was due to be born. I think it was to take her mind off it. All we took were clothes for warm weather but it was FREEZING and I wore the jeans I had worn on the plane for the whole week, which I never do because YUCK.

Anyway, the only album I listened to on repeat really was 'The Strokes - Is this it?' and something else I can't remember. This is a track from that album because it reminds me of Cyprus.

Incedentally, Evie was born 2 days before we went home and we went straight to Dads to see her.

I don't know what it is with my parents and going on holiday during crappy times. My dad always goes away when it's meant to be my parents wedding anniversary and they've been divorced 11 years!!

day 04 - a song that makes you sad

Please follow this link (http://www.fmvc.org/cdsound.html) and click on 'music'. The song sung at my Grandad's funeral in November.

The jazzy version is below.

Makes my heart heavy. Also any Sinatra does the same. New york, new york came on the radio and I welled up, not in a sobbing way but still emotional over it.

Friday 1 April 2011

day 03 - a song that makes you happy

This is so cheesy but I have to post it because it makes me happy inside. I know all of the words and more embarrasingly it's one of the songs I sing in the shower. My parents used to have the CD on at all times in the car and at home when I was about 8 years old when they saw Hootie live. Reminds me of simpler times :)

Thursday 31 March 2011

day 02 - your least favorite song

I hate this song. Mainly because it doesn't rhyme properly and it's just generally an annoying tune.

You are gorgeous Katy Perry but you don't cut it really

Wednesday 30 March 2011

day 01 - your favourite song

This is so difficult. Not sure if I can pick my favourite song of all time but I will post one that I like! Been listening to lots of Bloc Party (and Eels and Alkaline Trio...) via spotify recently so here goes.

Challenges galore!

I thought that when the photo challenges had finished I could take on the song challenges everyone has been doing on the ol' facebook. So here's the list:

day 28 - a song that makes you feel guilty
day 29 - a song from your childhood
day 30 - your favorite song at this time last year

It really bugs me that favourite is missing it's U. I had an argument in the second grade with my teacher about the word coloUr. Stupid americanisms. Cheeky person bought me an English to American dictionary. At the tender age of seven I was not impressed. This is a rant for another time however.

Monday 28 March 2011

Day 30 - A picture of someone you miss

It's hard to find pictures of the people you miss bc you don't see them that often but my maternal grandparents are in this photo. I miss them muchly.

Sunday 27 March 2011

Day 29 - A picture that can always make you smile.

Me and my baby sister having a massive cuddle!!

We watched some of the footage Dad gave us to put on DVD from old tapes and Evie was so cute. Even though the memories of Bex and I were taped over. She was such a good humoured baby! Not sure what happened :P She had such a cute giggle and it was fun watching the stages from not being able to move - rolling over - pushing herself back wards from a crawling position - shuffling forward and then zooming after Dad on all fours. All of this makes me broodier than I already am. Going to Lucy's baby shower yesterday didn't help either! And a colleague who is exactly my age is 4 months pregnant, married and a specialist in her field and I've been feeling really crap about it. It's amazing for her but I can't help feeling a smidgen of jealousy.

Also, I am a crazy person who googled cotton bottomed nappies this morning out of curiosity. A little boy at nursery has amazing ones! Hopefully I won't have to wait too much longer. We should be able to start saving in about 3 months.

Saturday 26 March 2011

Random Blog

I thought I would document a serious lack of parenting when Dan and I went to Macdonalds after my shift yesterday because I was like "seriously, wtf". First of all this lady (in the loosest sense of the word)'s  older child coughed everywhere without putting his hand over his mouth. Ick. My babies can do this with a little reminding, I'm sure your 8 year old can. Then both children went and sat down at a table with rubbish strewn all over it from people beforehand (because they were bored) and the little one (aged 6 ish) started picking at the leftovers and drinking from the other peoples cups with the straw. EWWWWWW. Cannot believe it. Mum shouted at the older child to move the tray away but it was too late. Fricking gross.

Parental FAIL.

Day 28 - A picture of something you're afraid of.

As in the 'something you hate' challenge on day 6 or whatever.

Thursday 24 March 2011

Day 27 - A picture of yourself and a family member.

Me and my little sister Becky a year ago. We aren't speaking much these days though

Wednesday 23 March 2011

Day 26 - A picture of something that means a lot to you

Royal Doulton Pretty Ladies Denise
I can't be bothered to take a photo of my actual figurine but my 'pretty lady' has been sitting on our mantlepiece since my Grandad's funeral. It's the only thing I have of theirs that they used to collect before the house has been gutted and sold off. I was going to put her in a box to keep her safe but it's oddly comforting and reminds me of them on a daily basis. So, yeah.

Tuesday 22 March 2011

Day 25 - A picture of your day.

I don't one picture would sumise my day so here is a bullet pointed list of my day off instead. Didn't get a picture of shopping / eating.
Today;
I got up at 7.30am on my day off!

I started doing some work and had a cup of tea with the last of the milk.

Had a shower and got dressed.

Rang the doctors to make an appointment.

Tidied and hoovered the living room.

Emptied and refilled the dishwasher.

Sat down to watch America's Next Top Model with a fruit cup and glass of cranberry juice.

Then I realised we had another episode of ANTM recorded and it was the final! So I made some Philly covered toast and watched it. (The person I wanted to win actually won so watching it was worth it)

Fetched the post in from the porchway to see my invitation for Lucy's baby shower was here!

Then I did a little bit more work with the help of Jo.

Cleared up from lunch and stuck the dishwasher on.

Then I went to tame my fluffy hair with the help of straighteners to the tunage I selected on spotify. Chill out essentials. This made me wish that someone would ring the doorbell and whisk me off to a beach somewhere hot so I could just spong out in the sun... Didn't happen though.

Dan came home to pick me up and take me back to Chi with him.

I met my mum in town.

Shopped without spending any money :(

Went home with my mum and ate LOADS before my dinner time.

Went to Dan's Dad's. He wasn't there, so we came home and I nibbled at chips and ate tomatoes.

I suspect that we will watch the Gilmore Girls + another programme and then sleepy bye byes!

Day 24 - A picture of something you wish you could change.

My health would be great if I could change it. New eyes, immune system, hip and back please. Although things like that are supposed to make you who you are I think it's hindered me at times.

Monday 21 March 2011

Day 23 - A picture of your favorite book.

This is the first book that popped into my mind when I read the challenge. Yes, it's a childrens book. The rude character names (Fanny and the like) were lost on me when I first read the book but having heard the book read at a past placement school where the names were all changed i.e. Dick -> Peter I realised that we're living in different times. This book is amazing though and I would still read it to travel backards in time and re read the amazing adventures!

Sunday 20 March 2011

Day 22 - A picture of something you wish you were better at.

Weilding strange vegetables and herbs? Looking like a crazy tomato killer? Nahhh. Cooking please.

Day 21 - A picture of something you wish you could forget.

This challenge can go whistle!!

As I am avoiding this one I thought I should add some useless info to this blog entry. Doritos are yummy, especially the chili heatwave ones (that I shouldn't eat because of my gluten intolearance but ANYWAY).

I have just treated myself to some things off of Lush and recieved 3 emails confirming my order because the have to go through another website to get paid. All of it is stuff I've never tried including retro (not in shops) and B Side perfumes (not in shops). Rather exciting!!

Also, I am on long days this week which means I get Tuesday off. One day and then off for a day, loving it!

Saturday 19 March 2011

Day 20 - A picture of somewhere you'd love to travel.

If I had an unlimited budget these would be my perfect destinations. I have had the opportunity to travel quite a bit in my younger years but money is a drawback when you grow up!

California. It's hot and beautiful and has a beach. I'd be there in a second!

California Beaches Photo

Sweden. Beautiful buildings and beautiful people I suspect!

Malmo Sweden

New Zealand. Absolutely bloody gorgeous views. So in awe of how it looks on TV (and Lord of the Rings - geeek).

Day 19 - A picture of you when you were little.

Because I'm cool.

Friday 18 March 2011

Day 18 - A picture of your biggest insecurity.

Oh God, there are far too many of these floating around my head right now.

Lol, I typed in ditsy person and Phoebe came up. I worry that people will think my head is full of clouds. I was a bit of a daydreamer as a child and although I work hard to hold things in my head, they tend to fall out without my permission. Like forgetting my colleagues name yesterday and forgetting to put lunch aside for the child who fell asleep at my lunch table. I didn't mean to do it and I mean well but I just look like an idiot and then I feel guilty and then I worry for days over tiny details. I want people to see me as an intelligent being but I seem to fall short of the mark sometimes :( ::whinge over:: Woo!

Day 17 - A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently.

I typed "work" into google and this is what came up. I have had 2 days off for illness (including today) and a day off because we do when we have long days but in the 2 days I was in, I did 22 hours and looked like the picture on the right! I love my job but I can barely breathe and it makes it a bit difficult to do your best. I forgot the name of my colleague I've worked with for nearly 3 months yesterday. That's just how crappy I feel. Like I said, my job is amazing and I wish I had been well enough to do more of it this week because I was with the little babies. I'm sure book and literacy will be fun too!

Tuesday 15 March 2011

Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you.

I am not feeling too special today. So whilst I nibble on dry gluten free toast and sip at peppermint tea I will consider this photo challenge. Who inspires me? This one is difficult :S. We've been watching the Comic Relief show 'Famous, Rich and in the Slums' and the celebrities all reacted very differently to the people they were introduced to. I felt that Lenny Henry copped out by buying the children a house as it felt like he was easing his own guilt by helping one family. Reggie Yates however was awesome. He spent all of his money on going to see the football at a nearby pub and a packet of chips on the way home, he emptied all the poo poo's out of the communal toilets shared by 1,000 people without fussing at 5am and he gave an opportunity to a musician but didn't spoonfeed it to him. I admire him for remaining so positive and not making the sad experience about himself. I would love to live with such a carefree attitude!!

So here is a picture of Reggie:

Saturday 12 March 2011

Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die.

Things I want to do before I die: Get married. Have babies. See more of the world.

I am a simple being :D.

Here is a picture for one of those three things. Although I hope not to have 3 babies of different race. Mini Dan's would be fine thank you.

Monday 7 March 2011

Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.

Two of my favourite people. I could not live without Daniel and I chose this picture because he's known Evie since she was a little baby. It makes me go eeee to know they've got a strong relationship. He couldn't live without her! Some of my favourite times have been with these two. This is both of them mid-ploff.

Saturday 5 March 2011

Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist

This is a bit difficult because I don't really have one. There are bands I like but meh. My favourite band used to be MUSE before they became famous sell outs and stopped caring about their fans by doing stadium tours. Here is a picture of them.

Friday 4 March 2011

Day 12 - A picture of something you love.

These.

In the words of Depeche Mode (NOT the Saturdays) I just can't get enough!! I love these sweets. Probably eat around 3 big packets a week... So good. Never used to like milk bottles as a child but these float my boat totally.

As an aside, I currently have the biggest rash ever from using LUSH :( The doctor was shocked at my blotchy tummy (she should have seen the rest of me). So I am at my wits end with the itchy feeling and the prickly pain. I've been prescribed a strong antihistamine and was advised to buy calamine lotion but gave that pink mess a miss in favour of moisturiser for sensitive skin, to save some pennies.

Thursday 3 March 2011

Day 11 - A picture of something you hate.

Doctors. Hospitals. Surgeons. Nurses. Needles. Medical Proceedures. As far as I'm concerned they all fall under the same thing. I know that modern medicine is a marvel and is awesome at stopping people being ill (debateable in some cases) but it freaks me out. I was joking with Dan about all the words I want banned when I have babies, following 'One Born Every Minute'. These included; canular, vein, blood, forceps, tear, torn or any other derivative... intravenous, epidural... GAH. The thought of entering a hospital worries me even if it's for other people.

Tuesday 1 March 2011

Sunday 27 February 2011

Day 09 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most.

This "special person" has got me through all of the tough times in my adulthood. Although he caused a couple of tough times too I think we've made it through happily to the other side. When I had a horrific time in Plymouth he drove down pretty much every weekend for 3 months. When I had appendicitis he wrote a presentation contributing to his final degree grade in the A&E. When I fought with my mum, he'd pick me up from the bus stop down the road. He's a pretty good man.  He looks after me and makes sure I'm ok which I need because I can be slightly useless. I love his face. The end.

Day 08 - A picture that makes you laugh.

Dan and I were looking at geeky marriage proposals on the internet and this one had me in fits of laughter. Especially about the mouse! We had been discussing lolcats earlier in the day too and this has to be one of the better ones.

Day 07 - A picture of your most treasured item.

If I had to choose an item I couldn't live without it would have to be my lovely phone. The battery life of it annoys me but other than that it's awesome.

Wednesday 23 February 2011

Day 06 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day

Terry Pratchett. Now, he's not that attractive and he has alzeimers but I would love to have his brain for the day. I'd read everything he hadn't published yet and have a go on his crazy 8 monitor computer. His sense of humour is awesome and I think it would be hilarious to bumble about like an old man for the day.... Ha.

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory.

Who says your favourite memory can't be tainted with sadness? This is the first time all of the Hannah grandchildren were all together with our grandparents and my grandad spent all weekend trying to get us to sit together for a photo. The reason we're all looking in different directions is because there were 3 people taking it. Bex's eyes are closed and Myles doesnt ant to be there but it made my Grandad so happy. The last time (and second) time we were all together was at his funeral but this is still a good memory.

Day 04 - A picture of your night.

I dont have a picture but you can pretty much guarantee I ate cake, I cuddled guinea pigs and had a LUSH bath.

Speaking of which, just got my forum order and big fat YUCK to Snow Showers. Smells like orange calpol. Luckily someone online enjoys the scent and doesn't want to puke at the slightest whiff. Score! Except for the fact I'll have to make the effort to repost the thing.

Calacas shower gel is my new love.

SPRING MING which was free is awesome. Shower smoothie, shaving cream, shower jelly, hand cream, moisturiser, ballistic and something else I've forgotten now. All very worth the orange icky grief.

Day 03 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show.

I love this challenge!! I have too many shows that I like but I'm going to post a total of 3.

First off, how Chuck (the guinea pig) got his name.

Casey, Sarah, CHUCK, Ellie, Captain Awesome and Morgan :D. Just some of the amazing cast in Chuck.

Chuck is the lady in the yellow dress. It's short for Charlotte. Although they only made two series I love it!! Pushing Dasies. Just realised I didn't say the show!!

And anyone who knows me knows I love this show too. I've watched all the episodes three times over. Its how I wish my life could be.

Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been close with for the longest.

Now this is a hard one. I wasn't very close to my Dad when I was growing up due to his job and his violent temper. However, when my parents divorced I came to realise how similar we were and have got closer and closer. Out of my whole family I would say that I have a closer bond with him. I trust him and know he won't share anything I tell him. Plus he trusts me and lets me into his confusing brain, whereas he doesn't share as much with Bex.

I did think about my Mum but the divorce seemed to have the opposite effect on our relationship than mine and Dad's. We relied on each other in my childhood and then she decided that she wanted to be completely independent. Also we have alternate views on how people should live.

Anyway, here are some pictures of me and my daddy. Above 4 year old me and below 24 year old me.

Worst week and picture challenges!

Like the title suggests I have had the worst week. Starting with my Dad being poorly and ending with me having a broken toe!! On the positive side, we're off for a curry later with some good friends and I have taken part in another Lush forum party (with thanks to Dan because I was at work from 7.40am - 7.50pm).  This means that hopefully next week I'll be getting some limited edition things and another free hatbox :D.

Also I have decided that to make sure I blog more often I am going to do the 30 day picture challenge (stolen from Miss Becky Jerams)! Especially because I was really lazy with the photo challenges before.

So for today, here is a picture of whatever:

Here is a picture of my mug, well not mine per se. A picture of a mug I have that someone else has on the interwebz. This is my motto. Tea is my constant. I drink between 4 and 8 cups a day. Biscuits are good but optional.

Monster Cold!! Dun dun dun!

Well I was off work for 2 days because I felt crap. I went back in again yesterday (Friday) and since I was in the literacy / role play area I really struggled because it involves alot of singing, reading and talking and my voice was threatening to disappear. I woke up early this morning to find my tongue and throat in agony (lower down, not tonsil stumpy pain) and I had no voice at all.

So this morning I whispered (painfully) a happy anniversary to Daniel. We're supposed to be going out for tea and I was going to dress up etc but I just feel like a phlegmy person. We're also supposed to be seeing Tangled beforehand but we'll see how we go.

On another note, we've moved the guinea pigs onto the dining room just so they get a bit more used to us. Luckily I can't smell at the moment!!

Day 50 A letter to your reflection in the mirror

Hello you ill person. You are lucky to have nice colleagues who want you to be healthy and advised you to take today off for rest. Well done for being arsed to shower and clean your teeth and face.

Me x

I suppose I've finished these now so I can actually write a blog about my life (which isn't that interesting).

My happiest moment today was finding that Topshop have loads of lovely vintage style clothes to peruse and they are doing free next day delivery. I shall be discussing the financial terms with my dear boyfriend later :D.

Also, One Born Every Minute normally makes me happy but with one lady chucking her guts up and another constantly saying "blood" and "bleeding" constantly it grossed me out instead. Urrrrgh. So I bagan watching Gilmore Girls instead. Much more civililsed.

Okay, I'm off to cocoon myself in a duvet/

Day 49 Hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days

I have already done this really.

I hope to save lots of money. We'd like to get married at some point and be able to afford little sproglings too. First we need to pay off our debts, then we need to be able to afford to get engaged! It'll happen. We just need to tighten our belts. It's better to know that we'll do it properly some day than rush and have a wedding that we're both not happy with / not have everyone we love there.

Beyond this I would like to enjoy my job. Massive tick here so far.

I would also like to go on holiday. I have 2 weeks booked off so far. The centre is closed for a week in August for a big clean and I have some time off at easter I've booked.

We'd also like to do more to the house.

Last day tomorrow x

Day 48 A photo of you right now

Hello!

You can't have a photo of me right now because I look like a knackered old lady quite frankly! It's been such a long week (and it's only Thursday) because we've had Ofsted for 2 days, a monster of a 2 hour staff meeting yesterday from 6 til 8pm, lots of new children joining the centre, taking on more responsibilities and so on. Loving the fact it's Friday tomorrow though!!

Bye bye Bloggy

Day 47 Birthday wish list

I will try to write a birthday list but I still have 8 months to go! On my 25th birthday I ould like...

Nice jeans - kept far away from my work uniform so I don't feel like they'll only get covered in paint / dribble / breakfast

Tonnes of LUSH

Chocolate!

Books - hopefully Terry Pratchett's Colour of Magic b/c my lovely Dad got me the DVD instead

Gluten free CAKE. Actual birthday cake with jam and icing.

Money

A nice big bag to carry all my crap to work in. But not Cath Kidston as everyone in the place is obsessessed and I don't fancy having a slight variation of someone else's bag.

Things for our house - Gibbley things as my Stepmum would say. Pictures and frames and candles and cushions etc

World peace?

Ok, it's fairly vague but who know's what I'll get 8 months from now! Sorry for being flakey with the postings but I was in bed by 8 last night and am so exhausted with having a cold etc. Only 3 to go!

Day 46 Photos of personal things in your life (pets, family, house, ect.)

I am feeling insanely lazy again so you're just going to end up with pictures that already exist on my laptop.

Family:

This is Dan and he is awesome. 'Nuff said.

Mum. Utter cheese.

Stepdad (and his twin nieces)

Becky - Sister.

Dad and little little sister Evie. There are no photo's in existence of my stepmum. Well 3 in total and all belong to my dad / her parents...

Pets: I'll admit that I'm a crazy pet lady. We'd like a dog but not until we've had sprogs and have the time to take care of one.

Caramac the gorgeous, inquisitive gerbil!

Bounty is Caramac's cagemate and is very friendly. She's the easiest to pick up and likes a good cuddle.

Oreo the black and white pied gerbil. She is very terretorial but very cute.

Butterfinger shares with Oreo. She is shy but loves nose kisses :D/

Chuck is made of awesome. He liked to watch tv and youtube (example here).

Rodney! Likes to eat hay and curl up in a ball when we cuddle him.

I don't have pictures of our house so I may save that for another blog entry.
